The Calgary Celtic SFC(Senior Football Club) was formed in 1996 and
has achieved provincial championship status for the past 2 years. In 1999
the team capped off an amazing season by capturing the Challenge Cup in
Chilliwack BC and is looking forward to the difficult task of repeating.
The club also incorporates the Calgary Caledonians ( Callies ) which is
one of the oldest in the country, being formed in 1905.
The team captured the Alberta Major Soccer League championship
for the third year in a row and won the provincial championship on the
September long weekend. Many of the team are in their early 20's and have
achieved much in their short careers, including National Championships
and professional appearances. Jamie Auvigne has played with
The Edmonton Drillers of the NPSL and Jamie, Gareth Sloan and Steffen Holdt
have had tryouts in Europe.
